?Forrester sees EA as primarily a strategy function. It can be focused on business strategy, technology strategy, or both depending on the organizational approach.? says Jeff Scott, Senior Analyst at Forrester. Iasa has catalyzed this thinking in Enterprise Architecture and turned it into a solid set of business technology strategy skills, essential for the success of any EA team.
The Associate and Core programs include 10 courses and rigorous examinations which fulfill the education requirements for practical application of the architect skill set designed by Iasa members. The program is the result of contributions from practicing architects as well as the combined effort of the volunteer based Iasa Board of Education.
Upcoming courses include Design Skills for effectively modeling enterprise capability and business planning and Human Dynamics for managing proactive relationships with business partners. In addition there are course for software/solution architects, infrastructure as well as information architects. All combined, this represents a great leap forward in the ability to get Enterprise Architecture teams working on business opportunities.
?The Business Technology Strategy course in particular provides a stable foundation to build enterprise architecture capabilities. It is the core of our enterprise Center of Excellence and provides a unique solution in the industry to drastically increase the ability to deliver high level business strategy and is the only skill focused EA program available from the profession itself.? said Paul Preiss, CEO of Iasa.
Combined with the Iasa Core Training, Iasa Foundation Certification, and the Certified IT Architect ? Professional Certification, the Associate Training and Certification allow an architect to comfortably move from one stage of their career to the next without a change in employer or other extraordinary measures.
