Seesmic recently announced they no longer have plans to continue developing their application for BlackBerry smartphones. Apparently they want to drop BlackBerry support to focus their ?efforts? on other platforms but in my opinion, their focus (or at least most of it) has been on other platforms. Here?s the note from their blog:
Effective June 30th, Seesmic will discontinue support for Blackberry in order to focus development efforts on our most popular mobile platforms: Android, iOS and Windows Phone 7.
We encourage those effected by this change to try out Seesmic for Android,?iOS and?Windows Phone 7,?as well as Seesmic Desktop and Web.
Sincerely,
Team Seesmic
I don?t know about you but when I read ?most popular? and ?Windows Phone 7? I thought?seriously? I guess I can see how that would be the case since like I said before, their efforts were already focused on other platforms. I?m sure there are many BlackBerry users who were faithful to the Seesmic app but don?t worry, this isn?t the only Twitter app for BlackBerry and it?s definitely not as fully featured as others which could be one of the reasons they quit. Just saying.
You can find a bunch of other apps here in the Twitter Application archives. Any Seesmic fans sad to see BlackBerry support go? Which Twitter app do you plan to use instead?
