In the Slice Girls, everyone is Scary
My fake book review, based solely on its cover.
This modern day thriller is about three stepsisters who ruthlessly set out to become the Top of the Pops, the latest and greatest all-girl-pop-group. The public thinks that their knives and swords are merely an affectation, and people are dazzled by the highly choreographed dance routines and flamboyant costumes. Their competition soon learns, however, the blades are how one member of this new group cuts them down to size. And into multiple pieces. Repeatedly. Possibly with jazz hands.
Only their weedy little manager, Jig, suspects the horrible truth. But will anyone believe this puny, rather unattractive man no matter how inexplicably likable he is? Will his body odor and hairy ears distract the police from taking his statement?
What Jig doesn?t know is exactly which one of the stepsisters is guilty, and if the other two are innocent or willing accomplices. Considering that Jig is also romantically involved with one of the sisters, things are about to get dicey.
Or maybe this is some other kind of book altogether. Perhaps it is the beginning of a new kind of fantasy series. Possibly one with swords. As always, I?d recommend you read the actual book description and make up your own mind.
