VANCOUVER -- An apparent hazing incident involving members of the Heritage High School baseball team was under investigation by the Clark Co. Sheriff's Office.

Deputies were called to York Elementary School, on NE 152nd Avenue, around 8:30 p.m. Friday regarding a disturbance.

They talked with all the people involved in the incident -- some of whom were members of the Heritage HS baseball team -- and handed the case over to the school's resource officer for further investigation, according to CCSO Sgt. Duncan Hoss.

No one was injured, and no one was arrested.

The Evergreen School District was calling the disturbance an "apparent hazing incident", according to district spokesperson Carol Fenstermacher.

The baseball team's scheduled Saturday game at Prairie High School was canceled due to rain, but school leaders took an opportunity to talk with the team about the incident.?

"The Clark County Sheriff's Office is dedicated to working with our community to enhance the safety and livability in Clark County," Hoss said in a statement released Saturday afternoon. "These sorts of incidents are taken very seriously and will be fully investigated."
